Sunrise Rainbow

We decided to surf Bowls early this morning.  Something very calm, easy, and relaxing.  Watching the sunrise from the East.

And the rainbow at the exact same time from the West.

After surfing the North shore so many days, it’s good to come back to town and have a fun surf.

I think I gained 10lbs the past week by sitting on the beach all day.  So getting back in the ocean felt super good for me.  I needed the exercise!

This huge monk seal swam right next to us and went straight to the beach for a nap.

Today was pretty cold but not when you have a Dove Wetsuit.

Usagi Island Sunrise.

Good morning 4:15am.
North shore down to waist high today.
Ala Moana knee high.
Diamond Head chest high.
Strong trade winds at 30mph later today.
Sun, showers, and huge rainbows.
Going to the sea.
Have a wonderful day!

The Glory

Yesterday was flat on the North shore so all we hoped for was a knee high wave today.  It turned out to be head high!  My student was the first one in the water and the waves were super fun!

Today I only spent 10 minutes in the rain before the sun came out.  That rainbow was the last passing shower of the day.

The blue sky is back.  It got warm really fast.

Just a couple years ago, this girl only could take off in the white wash.  But she kept on practicing and practicing.  Now she can paddle out on the North Shore alone, wait in the right place, time the set, and take off all by herself.  That’s pretty dam impressive.  I just sit on the beach and watch the glory!
