Best in Life and Gas Pedal

Round 1:  Another perfect summer day in Hawaii.  A great day to surf!

Imai-san caught 2 of his best waves in his life today.  Riding it perfectly and riding it forever.

Always smiling and always so happy.  And surfing better and better.

Hashimoto-san catching perfect waves before his flight back home.  He must have had a great nap in the airplane.

And is probably dreaming of big waves, cutbacks, and adrenaline.

Mighty Mouse reconnected to board, body, and ocean.  The perfect bottom turn.

Better foot placement and better wave selection.

Rocky is very competitive.  Everyone is surfing better so she’s pushing her limits.

Look at the perfect back foot placement.  That’s the gas pedal and that’s why these turns are easily done.

Thank you boys and girls for the great memory.  Today was a dream session for all!

2pm:  The parking lot is open again!!!

Round 2:  Coming tomorrow…

September 11, 2026 Hawaii Surf Report

Picture perfect weather is back!

The 2 feet wipeout!

Good morning 3:15am.
Ala Moana waist to chest high and good.
Diamond Head chest high and bumpy.
Trade winds at 15mph.
Sunny and warm.
Going to the sea.
have a wonderful day!

Box Jelly Invasion!

Round 1:  We surfed at Ala Moana Bowls.  Box jellyfish everywhere!  Rocky got stung on the way out.  Mighty Mouse got stung on the way in.  I got stung in between.  And 6 others got stung in the lineup.  It was the biggest jellyfish invasion I’ve ever experienced out there.

Surf talk in the parking lot.  So stoked to have so many good surfer friends.

Round 2:  Bowls was so fun!  No jellyfish and only good vibes.  Hashimoto-san surfed the past week in huge waves so today was so easy.

I can feel everything is getting back to normal.  Yes, summer is back!

Mighty Mouse surfs more than anyone I know.

And keeps on going, going, and going.

We all ride similar surfboards so I try to explain to my students where their back foot should be positioned.  Basically it should be right on the tail like this.  It allows the surfboard to work to its full potential.

The parking lot was still closed today.  One of the guys told me that they are going to repaint the lines and it should be open on Saturday.  Yeah!  Anyway, a couple more swells heading to Hawaii and possibly another hurricane.  The best summer ever continues…
