i was pretty happy when i heard Shun Murakami was japan’s surfing junior champion. i watched this kid grow into a fine young man and a champion surfer. and i can’t wait to see how much farther he goes.

then when i found out that Hinako Kurokawa won the girls championship in japan, i was even happier. these 2 kids have so much motivation, support, and most of all, super supportive parents. both powered by TSSC SURFBOARDS and DOVE WETSUITS, same as me. congratulations Shun and Hinako for making us so proud!

every time i see a person with lots of keys, i think they must be really busy. why? because if you have a lot of keys, you have a lot going on, more places to go, and more things to take care of. this is my keychain and if you think i have a lot of free time these days, you are wrong. i’m a pretty busy guy with lots of places to go and things to do. but at the end of each day, i always can’t wait for the next. like my late Grandpa Osaki always taught me “work hard and don’t complain!” “hey Grandpa, i wish you were here so i could come home and tell you some of my amazing work stories. you wouldn’t believe how lucky i am. and all those years of advise you gave me, i’m still following exactly what you taught me. thank you so much.”

Good morning on this windy Sunday. 6:20am.
North shore coming up. 4-6′ now but 8-10′ today with bigger sets this afternoon. Coming up FAST!
South shore small. But East wind swell so maybe chest high sets at some spots.
Winds are 30-40mph from the North/East. Abunai!
Weather will be cloudy/sunny/rain/bows.
Plan is surfing all day.
