i was watching my nephew Josh Moniz’s heat online. good thing i wasn’t at the beach because i’d be yelling my head off. i was super happy to see him advance again to the round of 64. yeah, 64 top surfers at pipeline and my 16 year old nephew is still going. a dream winter season for him and i can’t wait to see how far he can go. check out this backdoor wave!

pipeline is one of the most dangerous surf spots in the world. you can either make it or break it.

and if you can take a wipeout like this and paddle back out to catch another wave, you deserve some respect. photos courtesy of volcompipepro.com.
the waves should be dropping tomorrow with perfect backdoor conditions. lighter winds so excellent conditions around the island for saturday and sunday. see you in the water.
