Craziness continues…

when i took the last minute trip to panama, i had no idea how to get there and what to expect. i just went with the flow and thought that i’d get there somehow. all flights from hawaii to anywhere in the united states to transit were all overbooked so my chances weren’t looking too good. then i seen a few seats open from japan to atlanta to panama so i just jumped on a flight to japan. feeling pretty good and confident, i was so happy! then when i landed, i checked the flights again and they were all booked! omg! i knew if i sat at the airport for the next 2 days, i might get on, but not guarantee. but hey, getting stuck in japan is a great thing for me.

so i grab a hotel in narita, jump on trains, busses, taxi’s, and car rides for the past 2 days. try lugging around 100lbs of luggage. it’s not easy but it’s a part of my exercise routine so i’m not complaining.
photo 2
and nobody can complain when you get to eat awesome authentic healthy food like this. omg!

yeah, i must have gained 8lbs. already but that’s ok because on my first day diving, i will burn it all off!

and thanks to a wonderful and very kind friend, i get a CONFIRMED flight to panama via LAX. i haven’t been on a confirmed flight in a long time so that feeling was great to know i will get a seat and not be let down.

and i just had a ramen at terminal 1. it is a new shop and it was pretty good.
photo 4 copy
650 yen or $6.50 for this bowl of ramen. not the best in japan, but way better than any ramen you will find in hawaii.
anyway, sitting at the gate typing this out before i leave japan. if i had to choose a place to get stranded, it would be japan for sure. just too good food, too good people, and too good friends. it’s going to take me over 20 hours to get to panama but when i arrive there tonight, i’m going to do the salsa! haha. and with all this crazy things happening in this world like airplanes disappearing and stuff, i just want to say that if something happens to me, i love you! sayonara!

Japanese Buffet and World's Most Beautiful Woman!

photo 1
i had a free ticket coupon for an awesome buffet breakfast at my hotel. one of the best breakfast buffets i’ve ever tried. this was my first round choice and yes, i ate everything!
photo 2
you’re looking at some of my favorites.
photo 3
and my super favorite is yamaimo! this is too expensive in hawaii so i only can eat in 2x a year. but in japan, it’s super cheap so i can eat it every time i’m here. i love it over my hot rice!
photo 4
and yes, rice in japan is the best in the world.
photo 5
and of course, i need to get my fair share of vegetables. tomatoes and cucumber are my favorite.

did you see the movie “12 Years a Slave?” well, this beautiful woman named Lupita Nyong’o was picked by people’s magazine “The Most Beautiful Woman in the World.” she just won an academy award for her role in that movie. what a beautiful woman! i’m going to watch it today on the airplane!
A diver jumps into the sea near an area where the capsized passenger ship Sewol sank during a rescue operation in Jindo
was watching the news yesterday. korean divers are still looking for survivors and are pulling out dead bodies. the ferry is 37M or 121′ below so maximum bottom time is about 10 minutes. the visibility is only a couple feet and current is 6 knots or 7mph. that’s very dangerous conditions they are in. 10 of these rescue divers already got the bends and the dives will continue for a long time more. so sad.
well, my nose can’t stop running. is it the pollen? allergy? china yellow sand air? i wish i could jump in the ocean because that is the only thing that can fix it. finally heading to panama today! yeah!

Cheers!

Kanpai!
