Day 2: Punta Mita

borrowed the little car and took a day trip to Sayulita. first time for me driving in mexico. kind of dangerous because there are speed bumps everywhere! and they just pop out of nowhere. imagine driving on the freeway and all of a sudden there is a gigantic speed bump? no signs or no warnings. you just have to watch. it’s to keep people from speeding and it works because i didn’t speed at all today. there were a total of 32 speed bumps from punta mita to sayulita. crazy!

if we had a wave like this in hawaii, it would be wonderful. so easy and so perfect for long boarding.

bike, car, golf cart, or horse. what ever works.

if i was living in america, i would come here during the winter months. sitting under an umbrella sipping on ice cold beers watching the waves? that’s paradise!

went to check out this cool glass blowing shop. unique pieces of art.

local knowledge fisherman Pepe and Popa. these guys know so much about the mexican ocean. i just love watching them looking all around knowing exactly what’s going on. their eyes are always looking everywhere and analyzing each and every situation. something that takes years of experience.

we are staying at a villa. the whole upstairs is ours. super big place and really comfortable.

want to thank Lisa for preparing our wonderful waffle breakfast. it was amazing!

big moon means big tides and big currents. perfect for blue water spearfishing.

Punta Mita is a little surfers town. surf shops and waves everywhere. there is supposed to be a swell hitting saturday morning. perfect for us to get a morning session before jumping on our flight. i’m looking forward to that.

we drove an hour up toe coast to Sayulita this morning. another cool surfers town. waves looked super fun for long boarding.
