wow, all the fish are gone! it’s been 2 days of the most amazing food!
especially these kumu’s! i still can’t believe the ocean refrigerator is still there. seeing all these fish swimming around in the ocean makes me happy.
Paul’s been preparing the excellent meals for us. super simple, and super good!
the key is to add lots of ginger and chinese parsley.
then pour some hot sesame oil over and let it sizzle! this is the best way to eat kumu’s.
and the uku for sashimi is the best way to eat that fish. just clean, pure, and tasty snapper sashimi. it was so good!
next day, had a break between work so Paul said come over and eat some more fish! yeah!
chinese style steamed fish is the best. if you went to a chinese restaurant in hawaii to eat this, it would cost over $100.
simple, tasty, and the best steamed fish in the world.
and if you are a fisherman, you know how to eat a fish. absolutely nothing goes to waste. my grandpa taught me this and i am very thankful for that.

Eat All: Fresh is Best!
"It's comedy what I do" by Brock Little
went to pick up parts at the boat shop and seen something so familiar. omg! this was my old old boat!!! remember it? i sure remember all the great memories i had with my old baby.
i stayed and checked everything out. from top to bottom and from side to side.
i sold this boat 5 years ago and it was in perfect condition. perfect condition because i took really good care of it. now, it looks old and beaten down. made me appreciate taking care of her.
this is a photo i took right before i sold it. it was in so nice!
and Furuki-san drew up this illustration which i will cherish for the rest of my life. this is my roots! kind of stoked to see it, but at the same time, kind of stoked to let her go. i was taught recently to let go of the old. keep the good memories and say goodbye. so goodbye!
had some cool clouds today. first time i seen it. umm? can’t figure it out.
went surfing this afternoon with Jun-san. we scored the whole spot to ourselves!!! so happy!
went to check diamond head around 5pm and seen 5 whales right out in front. it was amazing.
another picture perfect day in hawaii.
want to say goodbye to a friend. Brock Little lost his life to cancer. it’s crazy to think he was perfectly healthy 2 months ago. and the cancer just got to him so fast. the coolest guy you would ever meet. a huge inspiration to me, and to million of other people around the world. goodbye Brock!
check out Brock’s quote: “It’s comedy, what I do. People ask what I do for a living, and I do nothing. I pick up a check in the mail and go surfing. And when the waves aren’t up in Hawaii, someone pays me to surf somewhere else.”
now you can all understand how Brock Little had a huge impact on my lifestyle. thank you Brock for the 30 years of inspiration!
