had dinner last night with my friends. talking about all kinds of things, but mostly about 3/11. yes, 5 years has passed since the tsunami hit japan. so many things has happened since. Seigo-san joined Mission 2. Naohiro joined Mission 1. Yuki-san and Naoka met because of 3/11. Maki-san was a big supporter for We Are One. we all know the feeling for this day. we all know exactly where we were. we all feel for the survivors, we all feel for the people that passed away. and we all feel for the people still missing. none of us will ever forget what happened. people say that time heals all wounds. for some, maybe, for some, maybe not. i’m not a judge, i’m just a supporter. i just want the best for the families, my friends, and the country of japan. 3/11 has changed my life in many ways, too many to list. but the main thing that i learned is to cherish every moment. whether it’s with family, friends, or strangers. cherish every moment because you never know if that moment will be the last.
want to say hi to all my tohoku friends, to all the ONE volunteers, and to all the people i’ve met along the way. you will always be in my heart. i don’t just think about you on this day, i think about you everyday. hope to see you all very soon.
We Are One.

The Dinner Table
Surf and Drive: Real Hawaii!
super epic morning conditions! surfed with Tomami-san and had a great time! super stoked watching her ride so many waves.
then we got super hungry so went for a loco moco with brown rice. the diamond head grill special.
then since Tomami-san hasn’t seen the real hawaii, i took her to my favorite spots. nice photos, good talk, and lots of laughs.
the beautiful diamond head. very nice!
the beautiful sandy beach. untouched hawaii landscape. and to think they want to build hotels on that coast? crazy!!!
the shore break was looking very good. side off shore and only a few guys out.
the right side of the shore break is called “gas chambers.” that was the best spot today.
usually it’s crowded but only a few guys out getting barreled.
the beautiful makapuu. always breathtaking.
and yes, my favorite of my favorite, tantalus! the best city view in the world.
