Accidents Happen…

omg, there was an accident last night in Hawaii Kai.  a truck just crossed the center lane and went head on with another car.  crazy!   i finally sold my Honda Grom yesterday.  my friend who works at the Emergency Room at the hospital told me that 90% of people that come in are injured from motorcycle or moped accidents.  so when i told her i sold it, she was happy.  the real estate market is slow now.  not as many sales but prices are still going up.  might be a good time to buy now…my local surfer friends at Diamond Head told me the lineup is ridicules.  so many people out that it’s not fun anymore.  it hasn’t been looking fun to me either so i’ve been skipping my evening sessions out there.  i’d rather stay home and fix up my house.Toda-san working on the boat catching sakuraebi!  even though i have an allergic reaction to shrimp, i’d probably eat it.  looks so sweet!

Pandemic Blues…

look at Bowls and Rockpiles!  very crowded but a nice vibe.  everybody seems to be calm for now.  BUT, when i went out to Bowls the other day, one of the guys was complaining about everything.  complaining about President Trump, Governor Ige, Mayor Caldwell, and other politicians i haven’t even heard of.  he was saying the coronavirus is a conspiracy, he was saying the government made it on purpose, he was saying that corporate companies were behind it.  he was talking so loud and being so negative.  then he went on and said “i don’t even watch the news anymore, everything is so negative!  ever since i stopped watching the news, my life is way better.”  ummmm…  then i thought to myself “this guys is a freaking hypocrite.  this guy is talking bad about America.  this guy is so negative.  this guy is irritating me as well as many others.”  then when i didn’t want to hear anymore of his stuff, i was about to tell him “hey, shut up!  if you don’t like the way our government is handling the situation, leave the country and don’t come back.  and when you leave, give us back the $1,200 stimulus check you just got!”

BUT, like Inaida-san taught me, “Silence is Golden…”

so hey, i totally understand if you’re stressing out now.  i totally understand if you’re frustrated.  you’re not alone.  but hey, the ocean is where us surfers go for peace.  it’s where us surfers go to get away from all the negativity.  so it’s not the place to bring that kind of energy.  plain and simple…
