today was a very long day with lots of things happening. it started off at 7am and i just got home now at 10:30pm. omg! good to see the Uncles staying active and going free diving. i was talking story with these cool guys in the parking lot this morning.
these guys have been diving since they were kids. i’ve always said this before but free dive buddies are friends forever. it’s a different kind of bond you have watching out for each others lives…
then it was out to the lineup with Nori-san. Boot Camp continues and i can see major changes happening right in front of me.
doing a cutback and smiling at the same time. this is what surfing is all about!
ham plate for lunch. the best!
wanted to test Nori-san’s surfing level at Kewalo’s. this spot is only for locals, this spot is crowded, this spot has rippers, and this spot is very aggressive. Rikita-san and i sat on the wall watching the surfers battling for waves…
this is the only way out. jumping off the rocks.
this takes practice too and it’s a very important part of surfing. keep on doing it and it will become natural…
came home and had a little girl waiting at my house. hi Kaira!
we were waiting for the phone call from Papa telling us it’s time to go to the hospital. Kaira and Meru-chan taking a nap. haha…
then the call came, i threw Kaira in the back seat, and we were off to the hospital because Mommy was giving birth to another Moniz!
our whole family showed up to welcome the newest addition to the Moniz family. Joshua spent 3 days flying home from Portugal and drove straight to the hospital from the airport.
welcome to the new world Keahi Moniz. i can’t wait to take you surfing! and congratulations Micah and Ashley for bringing our family more joy than ever! i’m stoked this day happened on my birthday too! now i have a very special bond with this newborn boy!
