What: Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation
When: November 12-13.
Where: Honolulu, Hawaii.
Why: Because President Obama said so.
this huge conference is coming to hawaii this year and you better get
ready for crazy traffic and lots of people. all hotels in waikiki are
sold out, all rent a cars are sold out, and they will be closing roads
without any notice. lot’s of businesses in waikiki are canceling
wedding bookings on that day because it’s too unpredictable. a lot of
top gun leaders will be in hawaii and when they leave waikiki, the will
be escorted by police blocking roadways.
so what’s hawaii doing? the hawaii government started doing
construction on everything earlier this year. traffic in waikiki has
been a nightmare. it took me 30 minutes to get through 4 traffic lights
yesterday as they were doing construction on BOTH sides of kalakaua
avenue. every side walk is being replaced, the homeless are getting
kicked out, and some streets are looking brand new. i guess we’re
spending billions of dollars and i’m just hoping that our government
doesn’t go bankrupt after this is all said and done.
as for me, i’m glad i won’t be on this island at that time. i’m not
interested in politics, and i’m not interested in traffic.
