if you wanted to see what the Hilton Hawaiian Grand Waikikian Hotel looked like for the past 7 months, here it is. i pass by almost every early morning and there are zero lights on.
as all the hotels are pitch dark in the morning, there are still lots of local surfers flocking to the ocean. this is before 6am…
this morning i take my shortboard and walk to the beach. then i look out to the lineup and calculate the amount of local surfers and wave consistency. not enough waves for everyone so i turn around and grab my foil.
it’s been super crowded at Ala Moana. it’s almost worst than Waikiki.
still had some head high sets this morning. i was yelling at this shorboarder to “GO!!!” but she pulled back. omg, she might be regretting that one for a long time because this is probably the last swell of the season.
so instead of sitting and waiting on my shortboard, i simply catch everything and anything i want on my foil. nobody bothers me and nobody gets in my way. and of course, nobody drops in on me. they would be crazy to do that…
another beautiful day in paradise. the swell is dropping but still waves all week long. looks good for long boarding and foiling!
