Day 11 of 2022 started off something like this.
it’s the first day taking out Mayuki for this brand new year. i almost forgot how much i love this. words can’t express how happy i’m feeling right at this very moment…
right when i anchored the boat, a turtle swam up and said good morning. that was our lucky charm to a lucky day!
Daisuke-san’s first Hawaiian Boat Trip. today, we went back on the foil!
and omg, we were lucky! it seemed like all the swell energy was hitting just this one spot. usually the rights are good, but today the lefts were better.
and the swells kept on coming and coming. i must have ridden over 40 waves today.
today was Daisuke-san’s 3rd time on the foil. it’s about this time when most starting foilers want to quit. it’s frustrating and almost embarrassing. but if you’re a strong man, you will never give up. and of course, that’s not an option if you’re with me.
i keep on telling Daisuke-san that soon you will fly. and when that happens, you’re life will never be the same. after he finally got a good wave, he came back out crying. it’s a feeling of frustration, fear, and joy all at the same time. it’s pretty overwhelming. anyway, wipe off those tears because tomorrow our Foil Boot Camp will continue…
