Okinawan Dream Foil Wave

132

this Summer has been endless.  the weather and waves have been as perfect as it can be.  i was sitting out at Bowls yesterday thinking to myself “i don’t remember a Summer this good.”

the surf report said knee high so that’s why it was so uncrowded.  only a couple locals were out and lucky to get some good waves at Bowls like this.

Grandpa Pat on a gem.

taking off on a wave like this on my foil is like taking off on a triple overhead wave on a shortboard.  i have to time it right, paddle hard, and fully commit.  all the time keeping calm.  so yes, foiling has helped me with commitment and confidence.  and when i surf big waves, i’ll be calmer than ever.

i love flying in conditions like this!!!

the waves are starting to build in Okinawa thanks to the super typhoon.  omg, i would love to foil this wave!  thank you Nakahodo-san for sending me this photo.  that’s a dream wave!
