Flying Upgrade?

109

i’ve been foiling for almost 5 years now.  foiling has helped my life a lot.  it taught me never to give up.  it taught me how to learn something new.  it taught me how to read the ocean better.  and it taught me how to love surfing again.  i haven’t been foiling too much recently because i think i hit my personal peak.  my friend took this photo of me last month and i wasn’t excited at all.  it’s kind of getting a little repetitive so i’ve been looking for some change.

there is a new Takuma mast that just came out.  umm, interesting!  luckily i was able to borrow it and test it out this morning so i went to Bowls.  when i caught my first wave, it felt a little different.  lighter?  faster?  i wasn’t sure because the waves were really small, BUT, it was definitely something different.  so different that it made me want to try it again tomorrow.  maybe this is what will keep me interested in foiling?  the big decision i will have to make is to pay $1,600 just for this mast upgrade?  or to use that money to buy 4 new custom surfboards?  umm…  that’s a very tough decision.  but either way, i’ll be happy!
