I was flipping through Netflix and came across this Japanese drama called First Love: Hatsukoi. I had no idea what it was about but I needed a Japanese lesson so I watched it. It was so good that I binge watched 9 episodes. It’s a love story based off the song “First Love” by Hikaru Utada. That is a song that got very popular when I was traveling throughout Japan all those years. I heard it on the radio and every single time we went to sing Karaoke. When that song came up, I would always get chicken skin. A beautiful song with lots of great memories of my good times in Japan.
Anyway, I have no idea who this actress is but OMG, she was so good! So good that she’s my new favorite. Bye bye Tokiwa Takako. Haha. 
If you want to study Japanese and at the same time, study the culture of Japanese love, watch this drama. I loved it so much that I’m going to binge watch it again!
