More from yesterdays sunrise session.
Everybody has different goals in foiling. Some like to pump all over the ocean, and some like to surf the wave on foil. Personally, I like to do both. My goal has always been to catch a good wave, surf it, then pump back out to get another wave, surf it, and do it over and over. My equipment is working super good for me right now. I’m on a 1210 Takuma wing with a Trinx custom carbon wrap foil board. The pumping is super easy because the wing is big, and the Trinx board is magic.
As for the surfing part, this big wing is a little hard to control during turns, but you have to trust it, and trust yourself. It’s a very scary feeling, but once you figure it out, you can do turns with the wing breaching out of the water. This is as close foiling gets to surfing. Anyway, my goal this year is to read the ocean better, which will allow me to pump and surf it better. I gave up on trying to get barreled on my foil because I can still do that on my surfboard, which still is the best feeling in the world!
