i had a great time going to the north shore and south shore with Saito-san and Kanae-san. it’s so weird how the pieces of the puzzle are now together. i met these 2 wonderful people back before our first mission to tohoku. we stopped in shonan to load up the vans with supplies and Saito-san and Kanae-san drove over from tokyo to help, and also made a donation to the people of tohoku. Kanae-san is Naohiro’s classmate so that’s how the connection was made. then before mission 4, i received an email from an electric company wanting to help supply solar energy for one of our projects. then yesterday when i went to pick up Saito-san from his hotel in waikiki, his face looked so familiar!!! everything came together! this kind man is the boss of A-Wave Electrical in tokyo. he’s been supporting our ONE project from the very beginning. i was so glad to meet him and Kanae-san. two wonderful people with wonderful hearts. thank you both and thank you all at A-Wave Electrical in tokyo! We Are One!

see that guy sticking his head into the barrel? after i shot this photo, i really miss shooting fisheye from the water. it’s such a adrenaline rush to have a huge 10′ barrel break over you while you watch a surfer getting barreled. yes, it’s dangerous, but i love danger. i’m getting my fisheye ready and my next chance, i’m shooting pipe or backdoor!
this past swell, i seen the most bizarre wipeouts. everybody seems rusty from the bad start to this season. during the pipe masters, even kelly slater was wiping out like i’ve never seen him wipe out before. i know i’ll have a few bad wipeouts but that’s life. i just hope it isn’t on a huge wave. haha.
