having dinner with kazubo-san and kazuma was pretty fun. all we talked about was kelly slater. kazuma’s dream was to meet kelly slater and not only did he meet him, he shook his hand, got an autograph, and also got a photo with the 11x world champion. kelly was surfing at haleiwa and kazuma got a chance to see him surf the dangerous 15′ surf. kazuma didn’t surf that day but i’m sure his level of surfing went up just by watching, and meeting the champ. we had a good dinner at a secret yakiniku restaurant in town. imagine eating good quality “ALL YOU CAN EAT” yakiniku for $19.95/each. kids under 12 is $13.95. we ate so much and i’m sure the restaurant lost money on our visit. you can also take your own drinks so guess what we were drinking? yes, jamacian Red Stripe beer.
wanted to say congratulations to kazuma for being able to meet his hero surfer. take some of that adrenaline, apply it to your surfing, and you will be champion someday too. Go-Okinawa!
last. wanted to say hello to all my friends in Okinawa. i really miss surfing sunabe, eating soki soba, diving, the beach, hokulea, and hard reef all night long. hope to see you all sometime soon.
