i was happy to get an email from Miki-chan. Miki-chan volunteered on our We Are One missions and sent me good news. she received a gift from Doi-san who lost everything from the tsunami. they are farmers in Matsushima in Miyagi prefecture. after the tsunami came and wiped out their farm, they got right back up and started all over. check out the fresh spinach they just harvested, and the air force calendars for toda-san.
here’s the crazy story: we passed by on mission 4 out of pure chance. we were driving up a road looking to help people, then Miki-chan said “hey, i’ve been here before! a few weeks ago, i came here to volunteer.” so we drove around looking for the family she helped. and guess what? we found them!!!
hey Miki-chan, of course i remember this lovely family in Miyagi. they just got their new tractor a few days before we got there. the shiny red one in the back. they were so positive, so strong, and so appreciative on your previous volunteer mission. i remember the mother inviting us back to stay in their home after it is rebuilt. i’m glad you are keeping in touch with them and i’m glad to have been there to meet this wonderful family. it’s moments like these that make everything we do worth every minute! We Are One!
good luck on your new flight attendant job. i’ll see you somewhere around the world? maybe hong kong for a surf session? keep in touch.
