good morning. i was outside last night and thought i was going to get struck by a lightning bolt. there were bolts hitting the ground all over the streets here. and the thunder? oh my gosh, it was like bombs. i ain’t scared of too many things but thunder and lightning scare the shit out of me….
i came to japan thinking i was going to relax. wrong. i have 2 trips coming up in the next 7 days. i’ll be in miyazaki this weekend, and in chiba next week. now i really need a secretary. i have so many emails backed up and so many things to do. so i better get going. hope your having a nice day. and to all my friends in hawaii emailing me about the south shore going off. relax guys. i’ll be back in hawaii next week and will make up for lost time… haha.. see ya….
i was going through my emails just now and opened one from my sister. the subject was Micah on SurferMag.com. i clicked on it and thought there would be a photo of my nephew micah taking off at big pipe, or a photo of him beating up some guy on the beach. i was wrong…. holy cow!!!! micah won the hawaii state championships and is the new hawaiian junior champ!!! yeah micah!!! gosh, it was just a few weeks ago when i was in water when micah was surfing his semi-final heat in the other contest at bowls. i was watching all the kids in his heat surfing from behind the waves and nobody his age came even close to throwing as much sprays as micah. the waves were really small so i felt kind of sorry for him. but things were different at the state championships at bowls the past week. there were solid waves and micah took out the top juniors and won the whole dam thing. gosh, i’m so proud of him because i bet everybody underestated his power. when the waves are solid, the rest of the boys look like ants. this is exactly what micah needed to build his confidence. being a hawaiian junior state champ is huge and i’m sure he’s the new guy to beat in solid waves. congratulations again micah. i’m super proud of you!!! and i bet your friends and family are too…. power surfing never dies!!!!
then i read kelia’s blog and find out that josh ripped the other contest at kewalo’s. i’m double stoked!!! josh is another moniz that power surfs. he won $300 and got 9 point rides and stuff. josh is a big 12 year old kid who just like his older brother micah, makes kids his own age look like ants. this uncle is old school so i love to see power surfers take out the light weight air guys. power surfing never dies!!! way to go boys!!!!
