good morning. wow, i’m heading to the airport and going back to tokyo, then to shonan. i had a great time here in miyazaki. the first time i came here was 19 years ago and nothings changed. nice people, good food, and fun waves. it was a long 3 day trip here and so many things happened. it’s all on video and photos, which should be out the end of july in the surf trip journal magazine in japan. i wanted to thank nakano-san, toshi-san, kubota, maoh, u-ske, and everybody for this awesome trip. and also wanted to thank the people of miyazaki for their kindness. i had yet another great trip!!! doomo arigato gozaimasu…. oh, and thanks to the guy who drove all around town looking for jacksan for me last night. your the man….
i think i said this before but i’ll say it again. u-ske is one of the best fish eye photographers in the world. his photo aren’t just photos. his photos are ART!!! i can’t freakin wait to see the photos when it comes out in the mag…. yeah u-ske…
if you know me, i’m not the kind of retro guy. i usually ride regular high performance boards. but this trip, since satoshi told me the waves are going to be flat, i brought only a 5’8 and a 5’9. well, the waves weren’t flat but i’m glad i had these 2 boards with me. i took both down to the beach everyday and was changing back and forth. both are fast, and fun. if it wasn’t for these 2 boards, i wouldn’t have surfed as long as i did. thank you tsukurimichi-san for my single fin board, and thank you glenn minami for my 4 fin…. these boards will be with me this typhoon season in japan….. can a magic board change your life? yes indeed….
**by the way. i’ve had so many missed calls on this trip and i couldn’t call anybody back because my prepaid card ran out. sorry. i was trying to look for a softbank shop here in miyazaki and couldn’t find one anywhere. i guess it’s too country. hopefully i have time to grab one in shonan tomorrow… mahalo.
