ever since i went to Cafe Miro about 10 years ago, it’s been my favorite. i went there only on special occasions because it’s not the cheapest place to eat in hawaii. but once in a while, it’s worth the price you pay for a gourmet satisfying meal. normally you wouldn’t find it because it’s like a “hole in the wall” place near my house. not too many people know about it and if they did, this place would have a 2 month waiting list. but i like to share so here it is!
the inside never changes, the food never changes, and the staff never changes. why change something when it’s so good?
starter soup complimentary from the master chef Kobayashi-san.
here is the chefs recommended appetizer. i always order this because you get a little bit of everything.
nothing is better than sipping on wine eating this delicious meal. but for me, i prefer champagne or beer.
the oysters are the best on the island. i wonder where they’re from?
when i go to fine dining restaurants, my chef friend always told me to eat something you cannot eat at home. i can eat fish any time. i can cook a good rib eye steak on my bbq grill. but rack of lamb? cannot. so that’s what i always order.
i don’t usually eat desert but the desert at cafe miro can’t be beat. so sweet and so good!
shiawase means “happy.” and when i say shiawase while i’m eating, i’m happy! and when i say shiawase when i’m leaving, i’m HAPPY! i love this place!
Aloha Street magazine asked me for my favorite places in hawaii 5 year ago. cafe miro was on my list back then, and still till this day. i hope it never changes because when i want a “shiawase” meal, i know where to go. and that is right down my street. try it, i’m sure you will like it!
