Happy Thanksgiving!!

228

good morning on this thanksgiving day in japan. it’s 12:47 am and something just hit me now. this is the first time in my life that i will be spending thanksgiving away from hawaii. thanksgiving is a really big holiday that i look forward to because it’s one of the few times our whole family gets together for dinner. my mom makes the biggest turkey dinner and i always eat seconds, and even thirds. then pumpkin pie for desert. i guess i’m feeling kind of homesick now and wish i was back in hawaii for just this day.
so this brings me to this question. how do japanese celebrate thanksgiving day? do they sell turkeys here? do families get together to eat? is there pumpkin pie? do people here even know what thanksgiving day is? i was just wondering. i’m going to walk around chigasaki tomorrow and if i smell a turkey in somebody’s oven, i’m going to knock on the door and ask if i can join them for dinner. i don’t want to be left out….. and if i can’t find a turkey somewhere, i will just go to mcdonalds and eat a big mac with a sundae for desert…..

right off the plane, i stopped by spice to get some warm clothes. wait till you see my new jacket. i love it!!! then we all got together for dinner. as i was eating, laughing, and talking story, i was thinking to myself something. if i was to combine the years i’ve known tokura-san, matsuo-san, akazawa-san, toda-san, takami-san, and naoka, it would go over a hundred years. we are a family and support each other in everything we do. and to me, that’s freakin special….
so for this thanksgiving day, i want to give thanks to all my family and friends around the world[:?????$B!x(B???:]. i might not be eating turkey today, but i’m thinking of all of you while i take a bite out of my big mac…. enjoy this day where ever you are….
and by the way, i just came from short pants and tshirts in okinawa, to sweaters and jackets in shonan. it’s so cold here and i’m freezing my ass. i want to thank ako-chan for turning on the heater for me in my room. it’s keeping me warm for now but as soon as the timer goes off, i’ll be freezing my ass off. and tomorrow morning will be colder… help[:???:][:???:][:???:]
