i was so excited watching joshua’s heats all day long. i was in and out of my house, and on the road all day long so i had to time it perfectly to watch all his heats. i couldn’t believe that my little 16 year old nephew was beating all the worlds top professional surfers! he ended up getting 7th place out of 144 surfers. i was yelling and screaming after every wave he rode, and i could imagine my sister down at the beach going crazy! we are all proud of you josh. this is a huge step in your surfing career. keep on surfing, diving, and stay out of trouble. you have a bright future and now millions of people around the world know who you are. you are not one of the moniz brothers anymore, you are JOSHUA MONIZ!
nice barrel man. to see your name in 1st place ahead of asp world known surfers nathan hedge and roy powers was awesome. good job and good luck in the triple crown!
josh is the most shy of the brothers. so to see him look into the camera and smile was cool. confidence makes champions. josh is confident and he is on his way to a bright surfing future.
last night we went to dinner at Corner Kitchen. a super cool local hangout. good food, good beer, and good live music. what more can you ask for?
this is called the poi dog platter. deep fried spareribs, fried chicken, and kalbi. $18 for all!
toda-san super happy with the poi dog platter.
thank you toda-san and takami-san for another jacksan bottle. the big one!
last, kelia moniz is going to surf the world longboard championships in hainan, china next week. last year she got 2nd place. i think it’s about her time to win the championship. nobody hangs ten like kelia. i’ll be watching that one too!
well, a great surfing day. watched my nephews heats, took the kids surfing, bought myself a surf present, and tomorrow i’m surfing all day long! have a wonderful evening.
