i passed by the honolulu marathon finish line 5x yesterday and i couldn’t believe there were people still running after 10 hours.

the marathon started at 5am. after dinner i passed by at 8pm and there were still people waiting for the last runners to cross the line.

over 14 hours later, these were the last runners. they could barely walk. the looked like they were in pain. the ambulance was following them closely as the police were still blocking off the roads. in other countries, i heard there is a cutoff time of 9 hours or something. but in hawaii, there is no cutoff time so you can take 2 days if you want. i guess that’s the aloha we have here. anyway, congratulations to all you runners! good job!
