we had such a great time in tohoku. the Kimura-san family are so kind and generous. they invited us into their house and we had some quality time with talking and eating.
after the tsunami, i honestly thought that the fish weren’t going to come back. but not only did they come back, Kimura-san told me that there is more than ever. that is such great news! Kimura-san’s mother was teaching me how to cut and clean fish. gosh, i sure learned a lot that day.
i’m not sure what this fish is called but it was so good! and watching the fish getting cut up into perfect sashimi pieces was making my mouth water.
OMG! oishikatta! this was just one dish of many.
then the block of fresh maguro came out. we had maguro, scallops, oysters, anago, uni, abalone, and much more this day. everything from tohoku and everything with love. i’m so happy to see things moving forward! keep on smiling tohoku!!!! we are one.
