my friend candace use to live in hokkaido before so she knows what good sake is. back in september of 2009, she made a huge jar of homemade umechu. since then, she would mix it up every night and let it sit to form the best umechu i ever tasted. in fact, i don’t even like umechu but candace’s made my mouth water. it was sooooooo good[:????????????:]
candace is also creative. when it was time for a shot, she went to the freezer and got out these ice shot glasses. yes, shot glasses made out of ice. it was the first time i’ve ever seen one. pretty cool yeah…
so i ask candace where the heck she got it from? she told me “holli gave me the shot glass ice maker for christmas.” yup, it had to be holli. and after seeing this photo, i didn’t realize how happy candace and holli were when they were pouring our drinks.
this is how big the umechu jar was. candace told me how to make it and guess what? i’m going to get a jar, ume, vodka, and sugar tomorrow and make my own. call me in 4 months if you want to drink the best umechu in your life…. oh, and by then, i should have the shot ice glass maker too…. BANZAI!!!
