good evening. hope you didn’t miss the new surprise south swell today! i sure didn’t. 2 rounds of fun in the sun. i can’t believe i was surfing perfect backdoor yesterday and perfect ala moana today. nobody was out when we were out so i know people didn’t know. i’ll bet tomorrow will be crowded. anyway, more south swell on the way, and a huge monster 20′ north/west swell on friday. will eddie go? stay tuned.
i’d have to say the 53 By the Sea has to be my favorite elegant fine dining restaurant in hawaii, and maybe even in the world. to watch surfers surfing into the sunset, then the lights of waikiki going on one by one, then the excellent food, drinks, and service. you just can’t ask for any thing more. this is the 53 seafood platter which is pretty dam fresh!
and of course when you eat good food with good people, you have to drink good drinks. this is my favorite champagne, DP.
there was a shooting in waikiki last night that. one soldier killed and 3 officers hurt. welcome to the crazy side of hawaii.
and this is a bummer. a 1 or 2 day old baby whale separated from its mother died on the shallow reef last night. it was stuck there and nobody could do anything to help it. poor thing.
