My ULUA "GT" Story….

183

in hawaii, red is wonderful. steamed, nitsuke, or any way. it’s all good!!! notice all the head shots. every time i’m ready to pull the trigger, i hear atsuko-san saying “kirby, don’t ruin the meat, hit the head.” hai… wakarimashita!

yesterday, it was time to head in. i had this ulua hole i marked on my GPS that i haven’t visited in a while. the last 10 times i checked it, nobody was home so i forgot about it. but i felt like spearing a big fish so that was my only chance. the water was so dirty but i didn’t care. i pulled up to the hole, i knew that something BIG was in the hole because the little fish that are normally in the hole were all outside and looked really scared. there is either a big ulua, or a big shark. nothing else. anyway, i load my gun, i drop on the side, i wait to see what will come out and take a look at me. i see big shadows in the hole but couldn’t make out what they were. i didn’t want to shoot a shark so i just waited and waited until my eyes adjusted to the shadows. as thing became clearer, i see 15-20 big ulua’s swimming around. i singled out one, waited for him to do another circle, then as he came near me, i aim for 1″ behind the eye. shit!!! i missed and hit the eye. the fish started going crazy and i didn’t want to bend my brand new $50 shaft so i swim in the hole, grab the fish with a bear hug, and wrestle it to the top. all that took 1 min 45 seconds. felt like 15 minutes. i put a knife in the head and it was over. my shaft didn’t bend, and i have enough sashimi for a big party. to leave my house yesterday thinking i wasn’t going to catch anything, and to come home with a cooler overflowing with fish, i was happy. this christmas is going to be a delicious one…. oh, you know what the good news is? there are much more bigger ones in the hole so next time, i’m going to wait patiently and spear the biggest one. maybe a 100 pounder? just will have to wait and see…..

more rain rain and rain on the way. dirty water? go-naminori vol. 4 coming out very soon!!! mou chotto matte ne….
