after jumping on a small airplane from Taitung to Taipei, got off and jumped on the bus. yeah, there is a taxi or train at this domestic airport but wanted to do it the cheapest way. 50 cents for the 30 minute bus ride to the central station. i had time so why not?
taiwan is a very clean country. and even if you don’t speak chinese, you can get around. i just use hand gestures and it seems to work.
30 minutes later, i was at the main station. walked 30 minutes to my hostel. why hostel? why not?
i just needed a bed to sleep in. no fancy hotel, just a bed to get me through the night. this place was very clean and only costed me $18 or 2000 yen. i would highly recommend this place to people. it was the cleanest and best hostel i’ve ever stayed at in my traveling life. they should make one of these in hawaii.
my bed was on the bottom. this room sleeps 8 people but luckily there were only 3 others. i actually felt sorry for them because i knew i was snoring very loud. haha. there were 3 japanese travelers in other rooms. everybody keeping quiet and keeping to themselves. i am guarantee staying here if i come to taipei again.
Kelia Moniz is 2nd in the world. she just lost but a slim margin but to me, she’s still my world champion. good job Kelia!
it’s so funny that Kelia and I are surfing the exact same typhoon swell. she’s in china, i’m in taiwan. i think that’s pretty cool. this trip was one of my best typhoon chasing trips ever. awesome waves, awesome food, awesome friends, and awesome memories. what more could you ask for? and if you wonder why i don’t mention the names of the spots we surf, i think it’s the best when you discover it for yourself. go and try and you will understand the ultimate feeling of a surf trip.
anyway, if you are ever alone in taipei for a stopover or even sightseeing, check this place out.
