good morning. i’ve decided to drop everything and go to japan on monday. things are still very unstable in japan but i’m going anyway. for all of you who i have appointments with, or are supposed to work with, or take around in hawaii, i’m really really sorry. since the disaster, i had a mission. raising money and awareness for japan was one. the other will continue on monday. when will i come back to hawaii? i don’t know… my mind hasn’t been the same since march 11th so i have to go. sorry again…
i don’t like asking for favors but i have a few. i’ve been getting lots of emails on important information, but i want more….
first: can anybody please give me as much information as possible on the situation. we want to go to the most needed areas. evacuation centers, fishing ports, surf shops, elementary schools, elderly homes, hospitals, where ever. all i need is a phone number and i’ll stick it in the navigation system and try to find it…..
second: what do people need? gas? cup ramen? water? clothes? we’re loading up a van and are going to take as much as possible.
third: if you have or want to donate anything that we can personally distribute, please let me know and i’ll give you an address to send it too. for those of you in hawaii, shoot me an email and i can meet you. i’m going to try to take as much as possible from hawaii.
last: there are so many people that offered their time and want to go with us. if you want to go, please let me know too. if you can fit in our car, you can come. i’m starting off flying into osaka airport, picking up supplies, then stopping in shonan to pick up more, then driving up north. i did that drive before and it took over 18 hours but this time, there will be absolutely no complaining. i promise you that.
a little of me is scared. a little of me is excited. and a lot of me is nervous. i know it will be emotional but i’m ready for anything and everything. see you all in japan soon. keep on hoping, and keep on praying….
