*as i watch this video, i could only think how hard it must have been for this mayor asking for help from the outside world. i can see it in his eyes, and hear it in his voice that they are alone, confused, and wanting help no matter where it comes from. i asked for information yesterday on my blog and gosh, i got a lot. from crime in the devastated areas, to confusion, to loneliness. some cities are left alone, some cities are well taken care of. you can talk to one person and get one story, and talk to another and get the totally opposite. i wasn’t planning to take my camera because i wanted to help with my hands, but now, i’d be a fool not to document what’s going on. my friend megu-chan in sendai told me that i must take my camera so i’m packing it right now. for all of you who sent me emails supporting what i’m doing, thank you very very much! and for those of you who sent me emails saying i shouldn’t go because it’s too dangerous, please don’t send me those anymore because i already made up my mind. and once my mind is set, it’s set.
please watch this video and feel how one man is asking for your help. this city is within 30 km of the fukushima nuclear plant and the government didn’t tell them to evacuate. they just said to stay indoors? until when? if i were living there, i’d feel abandoned. and that feeling must suck! everybody, please help japan! i’m not the mayor, i’m just an ordinary guy asking to help such a beautiful country!
