last year, i taught Dai-kun how to fish. he actually caught a fish that day and seemed so excited. this is the photo i took a year ago with Dai-kun’s first fish. ever since then, Dai-kun went back to japan and got hooked on fishing. he bought a fishing pole and lures and goes often on fishing expeditions.
this year, Dai-kun brought his fishing pole to hawaii and has been fishing all around the place. look at this papio he caught the other day! the papio is a very prized trophy fish here in hawaii. good job Dai-kun! i’m proud of you. keep on fishing.
then we went snorkeling the other day with Dai-kun and the Koguma-san family. felt so good to jump in the water.
and yes, the day couldn’t have been any more beautiful than it already was.
and the water was really clean too. here is Dai-kun and his sister Lena-chan checking out all the fish.
Dai-kun told his father that he wants to go spearfishing with me. first, he has to learn how to free dive. maybe next year we can go spearfishing?
then Lena-chan took a dive and i was amazed how deep she could go. she seemed so comfortable under water and i’m pretty sure after some practice, she will be able to dive pretty deep.
then Koguma-san jumped in the blue water. stoked to see father, daughter, and son enjoying the ocean in beautiful hawaii.
this is a cool photo of Lena-chan. it was her first free dive and it looked like she was enjoying being a mermaid for the day.
