taking my own surfboard was the best decision ever! it cost $150 one way and was such a hassle, but riding my own magic board made my trip even better.
my $5 lunch.
fresh squeezed lemonade for $1.
and chicken takos for $4. i loved it!
and i also loved surfing till sunset and walking back to my hotel. right in front had some music, lights, surfers, dj, and $1.50 beers.
gosh, just on this trip, i met people from germany, guatemala, canada, california, florida, houston, japan, and so many other places. all backpackers, and all good people.
every night there was some party going on somewhere. just people from all over the world having fun together. i was too tired every night so while the town was partying, i was sleeping.
cool lamp huh?
there was a guy doing fire dances around town. he would even walk into the bar and do this. it was so crazy!
when i read the travel advisories for el salvador, it all said “never walk alone at night.” well, i walked alone and felt very safe in this little town. but heard some crazy stories about other towns. guns, drugs, gangs, kidnapping. OMG!
anyway, happy to be back in america. now it’s the long road home. have a wonderful day!
