Imanas Tei Chanko Nabe Ichiban….

good evening, what a relax day it was for me. i put on my a/c, closed all the doors and windows, and chilled out. finally getting up to date on my emails and stuff. just got off the phone with my sister who’s in california with the kids. she said that it’s been perfect over there. trestles has been the spot and guys like kelly slater and all the top guns have been ripping it up. kelia’s been ripping on her shortboard. knowing her, she’ll probably quit longboarding, focus more on surfing, then get burnt out shortboarding, and start bodyboarding. haha.. just joking.. as long as she’s winning and happy, i guess you can’t say anything. but i’m so happy for the kids because they are all representing hawaii well. other news, how’s the typhoon in the philippines? watched some footage of flooding and stuff. shit, looks heavy… i hope everything is ok. as for hawaii, perfect weather coming up this week along with another south swell on tuesday. i was tuning up my gun and might have to hit a dive tomorrow. i feel like eating tako so might do some tako hunting. have a great weekend….

went to imanas last night to celebrate yoshi’s birthday. it’s been a while since i’ve been there so i was looking forward to the chanko nabe. this is satoshi-san cooking it up for us. satoshi-san works there and is hayato’s friend. small world yeah? thanks satoshi….

imanas owners are from nagoya. so the taste of the food and the sake collection are nagoya based. the chanko nabe is probably the best i’ve ever eaten. and when you got friends from japan saying that it’s the best nabe they have eaten too, that says a lot. after eating all this yummy stuff, the put the rice in, drop in an egg, and you got another meal. can’t beat it…

japanese style is to eat and drink, then move on to another place to do the same thing, eat and drink. we ended up at petite garlic because this is where this crew got to know each other. and this is where i got to know them. after some beers, wine, sake, and two bottles of tequila, i got up on the table and started dancing. haha.. just joking…

wanted to say happy birthday to yoshi again and wish him a safe flight back to japan…. oh, that’s if he made it to the airport….

also wanted to thank chef koki-san and chef roy at petite garlic for preparing the katsuo tataki for us. it was awesome….
