i went to yoga earlier this week and my teacher told me about the special yoga class on sunday. my 2 favorite teachers were doing a special once a year Winter Solstice class and i really wanted to go. so i went home and checked my calendar and found out i had to work. oh well. anyway, i pick up Nao-san this morning to take her surfing. we talked a little and she told me she came to hawaii to do yoga. yoga? really? so i told her about the class and she wanted to go. omg, that was perfect! it was 8:30am the class was to start at 9am.
we get there early and it was fully packed! 30 people already made reservations so my teacher told us we couldn’t join. we waited anyway because there’s always hope right?
another reason i wanted to go was because there was a live harpist that was going to play. soothing sounds while doing yoga? omg! so we waited and waited.
then my teacher said “you guys can join us!” omg! super happy and lucky! Nao-san is really into yoga and i was telling her how lucky she got to come on this special day. the only day of the year with something like this.
seen this lady with a cool yoga mat. i want to get one too!
our class was about maximizing the sunlight, every single minute. tomorrow is winter solstice so it’s the darkest day of the year. so from there on, it’s going to get lighter and lighter each and every day. it was pretty spiritual in there and i really felt like i got something really positive out of the class today. full body and mind workout.
my 2 wonderful yoga teachers that helped made my mind, body, and soul much better than ever. the best in hawaii.
then we went surfing! omg, there was pretty much only us. we scored! it was Nao-san’s first time and she did great.
Nao-san’s a very interesting girl. spent many years growing up in Israel and Boston. speaks perfect english and has a very free spirit. we had lots to talk and laugh about.
curry plate and smoothie from the spot.
yoga, surf, eat, and rainbows. another perfect day in hawaii.
