when i found out the whole We Are One family were coming to hawaii, it was either the waikiki tourist style living, or the hawaii local style living. i encouraged them to live the local style way right down my street. so they traded in the hotel for his house. a beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bath house in the most local part of hawaii. they all love it!
free parking, no police, no crime, no tourists, just plain simple living. this is exactly how i live.
Minami-kun and Hiyori-chan enjoying life. if they did this in a hotel in waikiki and made a lot of noise, the security would be knocking on their door. haha.
it’s Taito-kun’s first trip to hawaii. he’s just loving all the love and attention.
so cool i get to watch this kid grow. now i have another nephew in my family who i will love forever.
one of my friends asked me on this christmas day “wow, you stay working today?” i told him, “no, i stay spending time with my big family. they like surf, so we going surf.” thank you Kanae-san for these photos.
full load of surfboards and surfers.
good to see a lot of tourist enjoying this christmas day here in hawaii. it was picture perfect!
getting ready for the bbq the other night.
wanted to wish Daisuke-san a happy christmas eve birthday! i met Daisuke-san a month right after the tsunami in 2001. he contacted me about our We Are One missions and wanted to be a part of it. i told him at that time “you’re more than welcome to join us.” his wife was then pregnant with his son Koya-kun, but Daisuke-san flew up to japan and joined us anyway. he sacrificed his own time and money, and he even came with us to Fukushima when the radiation was very uncertain. he’s now a man and father of 3 young boys. i truly respect him a lot and i hope he knows that.
in my eyes, Taito-kun is a very special child. i always believe that everything happens for a reason. and there is a reason Taito-kun was born into this beautiful world.
my beautiful niece Temari with her christmas custom made dessert for christmas dinner with the family. it was awesome!
and it’s always so good to see my nephews and niece fully grown into fine young adults. the love and support they have for each other is amazing. the Moniz family is well respected in the international world and i’m super proud to be their uncle. i love these kids as if they were mine.
late last night my brother calls me “hey kirby, somebody parked their car in the middle of the road!” i already knew who’s car that was. haha. earlier in the day, i seen this same car go right through a red light near ala moana. guess what? it’s the We Are One Family car. haha.
