ok, here we are finally in 2016! want to wish everyone in this world a wonderful year ahead. 2015 was a great year, but this year will be greater. SAME SAME.
BUT DIFFERENT. i will continue to do all the things that i did in 2015. traveling, meeting people, surfing, diving, fishing, exploring, and working hard. but this year, i have different plans to add on to that. i’m so excited!
ever since i quit drinking and getting wild on every new years countdown, my life has changed. i traded in my tequila shots at midnight for sunrise shots at first light. it’s been over 10 years straight that i’ve been sleeping early, and waking up early to start my year on the right path. a path that has been working very well so i won’t change a thing.
i planned to just watch the sunrise and come home, but i felt the light north winds, and felt the long south swells. so i though i’d go check out my secret spot. omg, it was going off! the best conditions you can ever dream of. i got barreled and did every maneuver i could possibly do. nobody out, just the wind, swells, and pure mother nature. i couldn’t have started my year any better. as i was coming back to the harbor, i was telling myself “welcome to 2016!”
then came home and ate mochi soup. gosh, i just love it and since the mochi was fresh from ishinomaki this year, it was even better.
my friend Lance came by my house yesterday to drop off some hamachi and a bottle of jacksan. the hamachi was unbelievable! the jacksan will have to wait until my next day off, which isn’t for a while. thank you Lance!
i sorted out 2015 and felt that it was a great year for me. i did everything i could ever dream of. this year, i have more dreams then ever. nothing really planned but when the opportunity comes, i’m taking it. higher risks, and higher returns. i can’t wait to start!
