flying high in cuba. haha. one of my highlights in 2015. i’m so excited to see where my mind and passport will take me this year. was looking at the world map earlier today and thinking how deeper i really want to go. maybe this year is going to be the deepest ever!
spending the last day of the year in the wild was the best way to end 2015.
so many people want to swim with the dolphins. all i say is “if you’re lucky, your dream will come true.” recently, i’ve been pretty dam lucky and many dreams have been coming true!
and from this year, i will hunt more responsibly. before each dive, i will tell myself “only take what you need.”
and once i get it, i’m done. in this case, it only took 3 drops and 20 minutes.
another thing i will do this year is to appreciate people more. i was really thinking about that when i was driving Mayuki in the beautiful ocean early this morning. i seriously thought “when am i going to wake up from this awesome dream?” i already appreciate everything in life, but i think there is no limit on how you can appreciate people that have impacted your life. i read a book in college called “Okagesamade: I am what I am because of you.” i was young back then so honestly i took things for granted. but now that i am older and wiser, i can understand the meaning of “okagesamade” much better. i don’t take anything for granted. i appreciate every single person that made me who i am. i am who i am because of you. so if have entered into my life at some point, you have played a big role in my dream life. and you know what? i love you dearly for that. and this is even for the people who don’t like me or my lifestyle. it’s these people that make me strive even higher.
and thank you to my ethnic studies professor Dr. Ogawa from the University of Hawaii. i wouldn’t have known how that book i read 23 years ago would impact my life. and sorry i missed class when the waves were good. haha.
