had an awesome day with Koguma-san! the waves were small today so we set off on Mayuki looking for the perfect wave. as we were heading to one of my secret spots, i saw something weird??? a big fin sticking out of the water. so i approached it and it was a big tiger shark! it was just cruising on the surface like Jaws! i tell Koguma-san “check out that big shark!” he looks in disbelief. 1 minute later i pull up to my spot and Koguma-san didn’t want to surf it. haha. i don’t blame him.
so we anchor at bowls and find some nice waves. super stoked to see Koguma-san ripping!
then we were hungry so we went to Diamond Head Grill. the locomoco there is pretty dam good.
had a great lunch in the hot sun. then went to pick up the rest of the family and head back out to enjoy the ocean.
right as we pulled out, we spotted a whale. so we watched it for a little while, then went fishing.
then we went snorkeling. so happy to have Akiko-san experience the ocean for the first time. she told me the deepest in the sea she’s gone was knee high. haha. today was a huge accomplishment for her.
Daigo-kun loves to fish. he started at age 10. now he’s 12 and is very experienced. nice moana kid!
then the kids were hungry so we went to eat the best fish and chips on the island. an amazing day with an amazing family. thank you and hope you all enjoy the rest of your hawaiian vacation!
it’s 7pm and i’m ready to fall asleep. i was wondering why i’m so tired and i realized that i surfed early sunrise this morning before i went to pick up Koguma-san. i must have spent 8 hours in the ocean today. but you know what? i love it! tomorrow, same thing! good early night. i’m going to sleep.
