got home after a long day yesterday. just about to shower and sleep at 7pm. then i get a call from Takahashi-san for a dinner invite. splashed water in my face and headed out the door.
went to yakiniku. omg, my body needed the protein! so happy.
we had a great dinner and talk. there is 55 total years of friendship on this table. Maki-san, Takahashi-san, and Kazubo-san are all very good and important friends in my life.
then we go to drink a few down by the sea. the topic of our conversation was “friendship.” a great talk about who we are and how we got here. one drink lead to another and after the Jack Daniels came out, i knew it was going to be a long night. got a call from Bobby and Mar at almost midnight. they came down and another drink lead to another.
next thing you know, we were out in the middle of the sea having drinks and listening to Begin and Kalapana. it was one of those “many classic moments” time. this is what i live for!
so good to see japan superstar surfer Mar Ohno. i’ve known this kid ever since he was 13 years old. we had fun and Takahashi-san was telling me all night, “hey you, you’re living a great life!” and my answer to him was always the same “thank you, it’s because of you, we are all here right at this moment. if it wasn’t for you introducing me to the kind people you know, i wouldn’t be here right now, in fact, we all wouldn’t be here right now. so thank you a million times. i really really appreciate it!” then i look at my watch and it read 12:30am. i told Takahashi-san, “hey, it’s past your bedtime! for all the years i’ve known you, you always sleep by 9pm.” he looked at his watch and said “OMG!”
then he fell asleep in a minute. haha. gosh, i love this guy.
then i went to drop them off at the doorstep of his hotel. thank you boys and girl for the awesome time last night. i can’t wait to do it again!
