omg, i got an invitation to a party a month ago. Odori-ko? i had no idea where it was. last night was the night and i wouldn’t have missed it for anything.
walked in and thought i was going to eat dinner with a couple of friends. come to find out, it was more like 20 friends. all great friends i’ve known for most of my life.
we had the whole corner of the restaurant. this party was for my bestest friend Holli Higa. it was a party to celebrate the start of a new beginning.
full bar stocked with the best kind of liquors.
any bar in hawaii that has a bottle of Don Julio 1942 is my kind of bar. you won’t find this fine tequila at too many places. and yes, the bottle was gone pretty fast.
and the food was amazing! japanese food with a touch of local style. the oxtail ramen was amazing!
and the music was awesome. it created a great mood for the whole place.
beer and tequila all night. after a few hours, i was feeling pretty good celebrating an awesome night with my special friends.
you know what core is right? well, these are my core friends. my friends from deep within. friends that have loved and supported me throughout the good, the bad, and the ugly. and friends that will be in my life forever. we call this “BBF or best friends forever!”
when the clock struck midnight, there was no stopping the gang. taking shots is hawaiian style. been doing this for 30 years plus.
a lot of the guys in my high school hated me because these beautiful girls were my best friends. we hung out everyday and did everything together. these girls formed me into the person i am today. and i will never forget that.
to my dearest friend Holli Higa, thank you for putting together the most amazing party last night. the place, the food, the drinks, and the people couldn’t have been any better. it’s crazy how we all know each other for the past 35 years and still all have such a good relationship. i want to congratulate you on your first perfect chapter of your life. now as you move on to another chapter, i wish you the most amazing life and experiences ahead. thank you for being in my life and loving me unconditionally after all these years. keep on smiling and love you lots. let’s do this again very soon!
