today was my first day off in a very long time. the last place i wanted to be was in the ocean because i’m just way to sunburnt. but when you have your cute grand nephew wanting to go surfing, it’s impossible to say no.
Noah is 8 years old and has finally built up his confidence to surf by himself. this kid just loves the ocean and loves the challenge. he wasn’t like this last year, it just happened. so yes, i was very proud of him being so brave to challenge himself. look at his face! haha. so much determination.
and he surfed perfectly! here’s a kid i never ever forced to surf. i use to always offer to take him surfing and he would say no. to me, that’s the proper way to have a kid love the ocean. you can’t be forced to love it, you will eventually fall in love with it. so now, this kid will never turn down a surf opportunity ever again.
and i always kept Seth’s old wetsuit to inspire kids to go into the water. so when i told Noah, “hey, this is your cousin Seth’s wetsuit.” his face lit up and he didn’t want to take it off after. haha.
nobody ever forced me to love the ocean. i just fell in love with it. and now, we have another ocean lover in the family!
i was riding on the side of Noah just laughing to myself. can you imagine being only 8 years old and experiencing something like this? maybe that’s why i never liked disneyland? why would you when you have the most exciting attraction park in the ocean!
then my brother swam out and did some tandem with Noah. Grandpa and Grandchild sharing the same wave on the same board. freaking priceless!
when i first saw this photo, i tripped out because Noah looks so much like Seth when he was 8. maybe another champion in the making? great job Noah! let’s do it again!!!
