went to visit one of my most favorite beaches in the world. and of course, nobody was there. just me and mother nature! went for a snorkel, watched the wild underworld world, and enjoyed this perfect afternoon. this is west side molokai.
on the way back to the east side, stopped to watch the surf. looked super fun but decided to hunt rather than surf.
check out this local vegetable store. you pick your vegetables.
all that had left were some bananas, mango, papaya, and passion fruit.
you weight it and pay $1 per pound.
then you put your money in this hole. this is called the “honor system.” i just love this system!
then the postman drove by. US Mail local style.
even the postman bought some fresh fruit.
then i drove down the street and seen somebody selling fresh poi. so of course i bought some.
this is as fresh as it gets. from the land to my stomach. $5/each.
it was so good i couldn’t stop eating it. i wish we had this on oahu.
then back to the house. Isaiah and Keoki starting the bbq for dinner.
then cousin Dino cooking the meat perfectly.
Isaiah cutting up the meat. i was so happy to spend such quality time with my nephew. i realized more and more how big this kids heart is. so respectful, so kind, and so honest. and also a great hunter, fisherman, and surfer.
this was our bbq dinner molokai style.
and yes, the beers went down pretty smoothly. can’t wait to do it all over again!
