had an amazing time with Sakai-san today. he’s been surfing for 2 years and wanted to get better. so it was boot camp day! little by little after some minor adjustments, his level started rising. then it was no looking back!
Sakai-san caught some good waves. in fact, he must have caught over 30 waves in our 5.5 hours of surfing. i’m sure it was the first for him.
happy surf, happy smile!
then we went to eat at Da Hawaiian Poke Company. omg, so good!
the thing i like about this place is you have the choice of poke over sushi rice. yeah, so it taste like sushi poke bowl! and some kimchee cucumber on the side was a great balance.
then went to eat some waiola shave ice. the best flavors are milk tea and green tea. both delicious.
then we went to check out diamond head. i was looking toward molokai and couldn’t believe we made it back safely yesterday. i don’t think i will try that again because my body is sore all over. haha.
then went for an afternoon session. Sakai-san was surfing perfectly! i’m so happy to see his improvements in such a short time.
great job Sakai-san! take your new surfing skills and go rip it up in japan! thank you for the wonderful day!
last, want to congratulate hawaiian Keanu Asing for winning the contest in france. beating JohnJohn Florence in the semi’s, and Gabriel Medina in the finals. i bet the las vegas odds would have had Keanu a 500 to 1 underdog. the underdog beating the top dogs. i love it!
