welcome to paradise? look what happened to a japanese tourist riding her bike near kailua beach yesterday. somebody grabbed her bag and tried to steal it right off her shoulder. crazy paradise yeah?
had an amazing time with the ladies yesterday. i’ve known all these girls for a very long time. from 1992 to be exact. and it was in 1992 when i had a very bad experience in a bar in chiba. i got attacked, then became the attacker. to make a long story short, i looked like a full on troublemaker and was very embarrassed all these years. but last night, i finally found out the whole true story on what exactly happened that night 24 years ago. two of these girls were there and had my back ever since. come to find out, they knew i was innocent all these years. thanks ladies for understanding i was just a misunderstood foreigner in a tiny bar in chiba. Akemi-san, Hikaru-san, Takami-san, and Maki-san. you girls are a big part of japans surfing history!
we pull up to a spot and nobody was out. Maki-san didn’t waste time and was the first one out.
omg, we totally scored! check out Maki-san on a set!
Takami-san paddled into some good ones too. just having so much fun!
this girl from australia paddled all the way out by herself! we nicknamed her “Baywatch.” haha.
Akemi-san was a JPSA Grand Champion. she ended up retiring in 1992 and it was at her retirement party when my first foreign trouble happened. such a small world! thank you Akemi-san for forgiving me for the fight that stopped your party. or was it you dancing on the pool table that stopped the party? i forgot which happened first. haha.
we totally scored some good waves. another great memory in our memory books.
came in at night with the beautiful honolulu city lights.
never forget the moment!
i met Takami-san in 1992, i met Akemi-san in 1992. i met Maki-san in 1992 or maybe before. i was wondering how long i knew Hikaru-san and i just found out i met her in 1995 in G-Land. she actually dug out the sea urchin i stepped in from my foot. and when she told me i was screaming like a baby, i remembered it clearly. haha.
great time, great friends, great memories, and great tequila. thanks amigos!
