if i were to pick one fish, i would take the silver aholehole. i would put some salt/pepper/flour, and deep fry it. the best fried fish in hawaii. great job Mari-chan! i’m so stoked for you! nice fish and nail polish. haha.
yesterday was freaking amazing! thank you again Miwa-san and Naozo-san!
“A Life Well-Lived by Toshiko and Hiroshi Fukunaga.” i found this dvd at my Grandpa’s house when we were cleaning up. i brought it home and watched this priceless 1 hour interview of my grandparents made by my uncle. it’s about growing up in hawaii, it’s about meeting each other, it’s about going through the war, it’s about hardships in hawaii, it’s about family, and it’s about never giving up. it was taken just 3 months before my grandma’s sudden death 8 years ago. i cried so much watching it, but i learned so much about the 2nd generation growing up in hawaii. i want to share this to the world!
my handsome grandpa, lovely grandma, and their 3 precious kids. and no, that little boy in the middle is not me. haha.
i also got this from my grandpa’s house. they would travel to japan every year and would bring back a souvenir. this one is from sendai. now it’s on my shelf. priceless.
