pulled up to the beach and seen something i never seen before. a tiny IKA!!! omg, there was a tiny ika that got washed up on the beach. i wish i had my wasabi and shoyu! gosh, i miss spearing ika and eating it on the boat. haven’t seen one in years.
had a blast with Komiyama-san this morning. super surfer stoked on surfing. from the start, he told me that he wanted to get better in surfing. so i coached him wave by wave and by the 3rd wave, he was surfing in perfect form!
then he kept on surfing and surfing. riding each wave perfectly. it was so cool to see!
awesome time and conversation in the ocean. it was so peaceful!
Komiyama-san was a dive instructor for 15 years. he’s traveled around the world so i asked him where was his best diving experience. he told me “the Maldives.” omg, that’s my best in the world too! so happy to have these kind of conversations like this. i can keep talking forever. haha.
enjoyed our poke bowl from Da Hawaiian Poke Company. my new favorite poke on the island.
heard about the Californian’s that are suing Kona Brewing Company for the stupidest thing? for your information, Kona Brewing beers that are sold in Hawaii are made in Hawaii. and Kona Brewing beers that are sold elsewhere in the world are made in America. so the Californian’s drank Kona beers thinking it was made in Hawaii. and when they found out it was made in Oregon, the decided to sue for false advertising.
if the Californian’s win the lawsuit, Asahi Super Dry better watch out! Asahi beer sold in Japan are made in Japan. but Asahi beers sold in America are made in Canada. weird business world we live in. so my advise for consumers around the world is: READ THE FREAKING LABEL BEFORE YOU BUY SOMETHING!
