once a year, i have a huge meeting with my accountant. weeks of preparation, lots of calculating, and a big headache. but it’s the law so it has to be done. luckily, my accountants office has an awesome view. takes away all the stress.
i was one of the last ones to leave the parking lot last night. ended up talking story, learning the laws, and how to manage money. i’m so lucky to have such a smart woman in my corner.
with all this rain, Mayuki’s hull was flooding. both bilge pumps were broken? omg! so i went down there early this morning to get the job done.
see that tiny hole where the wires are coming out? that’s where the pump is. i had to stick my hand deep inside to put the new one in. doing it by feel and i felt like an eel was going to bite my hand off. haha. and i had to change both sides! and also luckily i didn’t fall off the boat!
then i had to go out to the ocean to let the pumps do it’s job. once i passed Ala Moana, the hull was totally drained. i was going to turn around but decided to keep on going because the wind in my face felt so dam good!
the water was clean, my body was dirty. so i jumped into the ocean with my mask. then out of the deep blue, i seen a huge shadow coming straight for me. omg, i thought it was a tiger shark!!! then i looked better and it was the biggest manta ray i’ve ever seen in my life! i didn’t know they even got that big!
i didn’t have my camera so i came home to research how big they got. and the one i saw was almost a world record! when it came up to me, the mouth was wide open like this. seemed like he wanted to eat me and i had to actually push it away with my hand. then he circled around me, came back again, again, and again before disappearing into the deep blue. my heart was pumping full of adrenaline because this was my first face to face experience with this beautiful manta that had the wing span as wide at my truck. i’ll never forget this experience!
